Resort Tax Review Committee

The Resort Tax Review Committee was formed in early 2021 in order to review the Resort Tax administrative ordinance, Ordinance 952. Their role, set through Resolution 3563, is to assist and advise the Mayor in the review of collection, budget, expenditures and recommendations regarding resort taxes. The City's Red Lodge Capital Improvements Plan is a guiding document in the decision-making process for resort tax expenditures. 


Members:

The Resort Tax Review Committee, per Resolution Ordinance 952, shall be a six-member appointed committee consisting of Carbon County registered voters with representatives from Red Lodge, non-retail businesses, retail businesses and residents. The Mayor shall appoint three members to the Resort Tax Committee and the City Council shall appoint two members and one member of the City Council who is a non-voting member. All appointments will serve 2 year terms.
