June 2022 Volunteer Opportunities

An image of the word "Volunteer"

Each summer the City's community boards host several opportunities for Red Lodge volunteers.

1. Saturday, June 4th between 8:00am-Noon:

As part of the Parks, Trees and Recreation Board's Highway 212 Beautification Project, volunteers are invited to the roundabout between 8:ooam and Noon. We will be planting over 100 native, drought-tolerant and pollinator-friendly plants around the perimeter of the roundabout. This is a continuation of this project that began last summer. Volunteers are welcome to stay for an hour or the entire time.

Keep an eye out for tree planting opportunities along Highway 212 as well this summer.

2. Every Tuesday, 6:00-7:00PM:

Weekly weeding and fun at the roundabout (AKA traffic circle). Let's keep it looking fabulous!

3. Field School Park Tree Plantings, TBD:

Thanks to a MT DNRC grant, we were able to remove several dying trees around Field School Park and replace them. We are still working out details for this planting event, where volunteers will learn about the Emerald Ash Borer and help plant a tree or two.

4. Tuesday, June 21st, 5:30-6:30PM:
